Fire & Longleaf F201

Fire & Longleaf is a two and a half day course designed for landowners and natural resource professionals of all experience levels interested in the use of prescribed fire in longleaf pine systems. The goals of this course are to develop lifelong pine systems. The goals of this course are to develop lifelong students of fire and to educate land mangers about longleaf-specific considerations when planning a prescribed burn.

Participants are highly encouraged to pursue the certified burner process in their home state in conjunction with taking Fire & Longleaf: F201.

• Fire ecology
• Burning young longleaf
• Ignition patterns
• Fireline tools
• Smoke management
• Fire weather parameters
• Returning fire to long-unburned stands
• Burn planning
