The Southern Group of State Foresters and the South Carolina Forestry Commission created the Learn Plan Act initiative to support landowners and provide them with easy access to educational materials and resources to keep their woods healthy.
Through the Learn Plan Act website, landowners can quickly view a curated collection of educational resources and guides as well as connect with fellow landowners who are at various stages in reaching their goals for the land. While owning land is a big responsibility, it is one that comes with big rewards. Ultimately, our hope is to encourage landowners to contact their local forester and develop a land management plan that will guide them toward meeting their goals.
Caring for your woods requires careful consideration of various factors, such as wildlife, fires, natural hazards, timber markets, taxes and Best Management Practices. The Learn Plan Act campaign aims to give landowners as much information as possible for taking care of their land. By creating and implementing a management plan, landowners enable their woods to flourish and reach its highest potential. Knowing how to create and manage a thriving forest takes dedication, and the Southern Group of State Foresters is committed to helping landowners achieve their goals.
